Augustine Wong is an architecture student at the University of Toronto. As he captured the interior of the Pump House, for the Inside on the Outside photography project, he was inspired by the sense of latent energy embodied within and underneath the building. The Pump House has huge water reservoirs, used to supply water to the local fire ring. Augustine used light painting as a contrast to the typically static nature of architectural photos. With this technique he tried to capture the building’s kinetic moments, understood by delving into the building’s purpose and history.
