Pearl A. Sequeira (she/her) is a self-directed emerging abstract artist, living in Toronto. Her art practice explores the complexity of identity and connection, and is an on-going exploration of how communities of colour and global migrants might reclaim space. Sequeira’s inspiration comes from conversations with diverse communities, time in nature, and engaging with different disciplines of knowledge. Using colour and texture, she creates conceptual paintings and collages, to offer viewers new ways of creating connection with themselves, nature, and their communities. Her professional development is supported with funding from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council. Pearl was a Perimeter Project artist.
