Chris and Greg Mitchell are artists and graphic designers whose work focuses on the relationship between humans and nature. It is inspired by their Mi’kmaq heritage, music exploration, and Canadian upbringing. The twin brothers studied design in Brooklyn and, after moving to Toronto in 2019, launched Born in the North, a streetwear line that mixes Indigenous imagery and themes with their day-to-day experiences. They also have an association with 7th Generation Image Makers, a program of the Native Child and Family Services, which has a branch in the Downsview area. The Mitchell brothers produced the signature flags “The Turtle and Traveller” for the Wind Rose installation.
