Zishuo Li and Yifu Ding were one of the three winning teams of the Wind Rose emerging designer competition. Zishuo Li is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist who was an MFA candidate for Interdisciplinary Master's in Art, Media and Design at OCAD U at the time of the competition. Zishuo delves into the intricate relationship between nature and things that interact with its forces, shaping our world and defining our existence. Yifu Ding is a passionate emerging designer in the field of architecture with a focus on ecological sustainability and wellbeing. At the time of the competition, Yifu was pursuing a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Toronto. Their project, called “Wind Blessing in Red,” harnessed the power of the wind and celebrated Downsview’s multicultural community. The installation is created with long strips of fabric on which wishes are written by locals in a multitude of local languages.
