WATCH OUR LATEST VIRTUAL TOWN HALL MEETING

The City of Toronto, Canada Lands Company and Northcrest Developments invited the public to continue the conversation about Update Downsview. This meeting shared information and sought feedback on emerging policy directions, the status of Update Downsview, the Environmental Assessment Study, the related Official Plan Amendment and the Community Development Plan.

PLAY ON THE RUNWAY, JUNE 26

For almost 100 years, planes have taken flight on this stretch of land. On June 26, it was your turn! We opened the Downsview runway for an afternoon of free play in celebration of North York’s 100th birthday. People brought their kids, bikes, dogs, balls, skateboards, rollerblades, and sense of wonder.

COMMUNITY RESOURCE GROUP

The Community Resource Group (CRG) is a forum for sharing perspectives and advice with the landowners through the planning and development process. It was created to support a transparent, accountable, and meaningful process informed by multi-way communication. CRG membership includes a diverse mix of organizations and individuals representing a range of sectors, interests, and communities. Elected officials and rights holders are invited to every meeting.

ARTS & CULTURE COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS

The success of arts and culture projects on these lands relies on close collaboration with individuals who have deep local experience and knowledge of the vibrant local scene. An XOXO Advisory Committee has been convened to help plan for interim projects and programming on these lands. Learn more and apply to join the XOXO jury pool.

COME EXPLORE A SERIES OF EMERGING ARTS & CULTURE PROJECTS

XOXO Downsview is a celebration of public art, culture, and local heritage that was launched in September 2021 in coordination with Toronto's Year of Public Art. It involves dynamic installations, murals, multimedia works, and an audio walking tour on the Downsview lands and in Downsview Park.

These installations are only the start. Arts and culture will be a big part of the future of this place, both in the final neighbourhoods and while planning is underway. We are committed to amplifying the rich local arts scene and exploring how equity and diversity will guide opportunities here over decades to come.
